Lola 1968 T140 Blake/Sevier

July 2, 2025 by LEAH

Make: Lola
Model: T140
Year: 1968
Chassis: SL T140/10
Engine: Chevy 302
Transmission: Hewland LG 600

Owner: Bill Blake and Bruce Sevier
Location: Sacramento, CA, USA

Previous Owners: Pierre Phillips, Dr. Grant Hill, Lou Pavesi.

Racing History: Pierrre Phillips of Portland, Oregon, purchased the Lola from Carl Hass and campaigned it in the first years of the SCCA F5000 Series in 1968 and 1969 at Laguna Seca and Riverside International Raceway.  Pierre shipped the Lola to New Zealand, competing in the 1968 New Zealand F5000 Championship Series.  He also campaigned it in SCCA FA class and in the 1968 Road Race of Champions at Riverside.

There is a gap in ownership history up to 1988 when Dr. Grant Hill Alberta, Canada acquired the car.  In 1990 Lou Pavesi, California acquired the Lola, and campaigned it until selling it in 2004 to Bill and Bruce.

In 2008 Bill and Bruce began campaigning the Lola in the F5000 40th Anniversary races.  The Lola received the “Best Presentation and Performance” award at the Wine Country Classic in 2008.  The Lola has been campaigned every year since 2008 in the F5000 races, at Circuit of the Americas, Indianapolis, Road America, Portland International Raceway, Coronado, California Speedway, Sears Point, and Laguna Seca.

In 2015 the Lola was re-restored to its original livery that matches photos we have received from Pierre Phillips and our friend Spike Snyder.  We then raced it in the 2015 Monterey Reunion.
